The Guard Polearm and Shield is the first Rare-grade set in the family, and its name is the branch’s role in one word: the Withered Knight’s Polearm & Shield path exists to guard — blocking for the front line, pulling enemies with Thorn Guide, and rescuing downed allies with Intervene. At 14 Attack and Combat Value 300, it is the first set that makes the trio off-tank build feel deliberate rather than theoretical.
- Where it sits: the second rung of the Polearm & Shield ladder (CV 300) — above the Squire Polearm and Shield (Common, CV 200), below the Thorn Polearm and Shield (Excellent, CV 400).
- When to use it: the leveling-to-midgame stretch, for trio support play.
- When to swap: when an Excellent or better set drops — the Rare tier is the class’s comfort zone, not its ceiling.
