Mistfall Hunter Class Tier List

Mistfall Hunter’s community tier list (August 2026) puts Sorcerer and Shadowstrix in S-tier. Sorcerer is the most common overall number one for ranged damage and area control, while Shadowstrix leads for PvP and solo play. Mercenary, Blackarrow, and Withered Knight sit in A-tier, and Seer ranks last overall but carries trio teams.

Mistfall Hunter has no official class tier list. The rankings below are community tier lists published by gaming sites and fan resources around the July 2026 launch, plus the strongest threads from Reddit and Steam discussions. They were compiled on July 31, 2026, roughly two days after the game went live on July 29–30, 2026, and they already disagree with each other — partly because some were written against the demo or playtest builds, and partly because the final pre-launch balance patch changed several classes. The page was updated again on August 5, 2026 to fold in the first lists published in August.

This page treats every placement as an opinion with a date and a source. Nothing here is a developer statement, and none of it should be read as fixed game data.

Class Tier List at a Glance

The consensus read across all launch-window lists, as of August 2026:

TierClasses
S-TierSorcerer, Shadowstrix
A-TierMercenary, Blackarrow, Withered Knight
B-TierSeer — last overall, S-tier value in trios
C-Tier— (no class in the consensus; placements vary by source)

No class lands in C-tier across the community consensus, but individual lists do reach it — GameSpot and GAMES.GG put Seer in C, SkyCoach’s post-playtest list put Withered Knight in C, and the beta-era mistfallhunters list put Sorcerer, Withered Knight, and Seer in Tier D. The full source-by-source comparison follows below.

Rows marked n/s are placements the search snippet did not show — missing, not confirmed absent. GameRant’s snippet revealed only the S-tier (Sorcerer, Withered Knight); Mercenary’s placement and the rest were not visible. GamesRadar’s snippet showed S Mercenary, A Blackarrow, B Withered Knight, C Shadowstrix, but not where Seer and Sorcerer land. gladiatorboost ranks classes separately for PvP, PvE, and solo play; the snippet did not reveal the placements, so it is listed for existence only.

Additional rankings that do not publish a full tier table: GamerBlurb places Mercenary and Shadowstrix in S-tier and says Blackarrow narrowly misses S; MetaMist rates Shadowstrix S-tier in PvP and Sorcerer S-tier in PvE, with Withered Knight as the top melee PvP pick; LagoFast names Sorcerer the best overall class with Withered Knight close behind; allthings.how recommends Mercenary for new or solo players, Sorcerer for the highest ranged damage, and Shadowstrix for solo PvP ambushes.

Mobalytics’ Trio and Solo Split (July 2026)

Mobalytics publishes the launch meta as two separate lists, one for trio play and one for solo — the only major launch-window source to separate the two formats this cleanly:

FormatS-TierA-TierB-Tier
TrioBlackarrow, SorcererSeer, ShadowstrixMercenary, Withered Knight
SoloShadowstrix, BlackarrowWithered Knight, Mercenary, SorcererSeer

The Mobalytics reasoning adds a few angles missing from the other lists: Shadowstrix and Blackarrow are called great early picks because high-ground enemies, invisible foes, and ranged kiting dominate the launch meta; a good Shadowstrix is “S-tier without doubt” for PvP but struggles in hard PvE boss fights; and the Seer — ranked worst solo by everyone — is pulled toward A-tier solo when played as the Blasphemer spec, which self-heals through the Rune: Drain talent.

What the Community Tier List Looks Like

Read generously, the launch-window lists support a broad consensus even where they disagree on the exact tiers. As of late July 2026:

  • S-tier — Sorcerer, Shadowstrix. The Sorcerer is the most common overall number one across all lists (KeenGamer, GameSpot, GAMES.GG, Destructoid, LagoFast) for ranged damage and area control. The Shadowstrix is the most common PvP number one (KeenGamer, SkyCoach, MetaMist, GamerBlurb) for stealth and burst. The exception is Destructoid, which ranks Shadowstrix B overall but explicitly says it is S-tier for pure PvP play.
  • A-tier — Mercenary, Blackarrow, Withered Knight. These three fill the middle band in most lists, each with a clear lane. Mercenary is the beginner and safety pick, though GameSpot keeps it at B and a Steam thread argued it was bottom-tier at launch. Blackarrow is a strong ranged specialist whose value depends on aim — fan-site mistfallhunters notes its ranking is “heavily disputed.” Withered Knight is the most volatile class in the game: C-tier or worse in the playtest-era lists, A-tier at launch after its buffs.
  • B-tier (overall) — Seer. The Seer lands last in most overall lists because it cannot generate damage alone, but it is the only class that heals teammates, which pushes it to S-tier value in coordinated trios (Destructoid, SkyCoach, allthings.how). It is ranked lowest overall by GameSpot and GAMES.GG and is the one class every source tells solo players to avoid.

The first early-August sources sit on the same consensus. GameRant (Aug 3) puts Sorcerer and Withered Knight both in S-tier, continuing the Withered Knight’s climb from the A-tier (post-buff) position it held in the July 31 lists, while GamesRadar’s starter-focused list (Aug 1) still has Mercenary first.

Per-Class Notes

  • SorcererStaff-wielding ranged mage with the highest damage ceiling in the roster and one of the smallest health pools. Its blink dodge is repeatedly cited as the reason it stays at the top. Ranked S by KeenGamer, GameSpot, GAMES.GG, Destructoid, and LagoFast; A by SkyCoach. Reddit playtest comments called it very strong in solo on open ground.
  • Shadowstrix — Assassin with Dagger and Dual Blades. Its stealth and mobility make it the standard answer for “best solo class” and “best PvP class,” but it demands the most skill and has low health. Beta-era sources called it “broken” before the launch nerfs.
  • MercenaryHammer and Sword and Shield frontline fighter, the only Beginner Friendly class. Universally recommended as a starting class; ranked S by Destructoid and GamerBlurb, A by KeenGamer and SkyCoach, B by GameSpot and GAMES.GG. Its detractors call it a jack of all trades.
  • BlackarrowBow marksman that trades health for range and zone control. S-tier in SkyCoach and the beta-era mistfallhunters list; A-tier in KeenGamer, Destructoid, GameSpot, and GAMES.GG; one Steam thread called it the weakest class. It is the clearest example of a skill-dependent pick.
  • Withered KnightGreatsword and Polearm and Shield bruiser. C-tier in SkyCoach’s playtest list, near the bottom in the beta-era mistfallhunters list, then A-tier at launch (KeenGamer, Destructoid) after the pre-launch buffs and the addition of the Polearm and Shield spec. Steam players are split on whether its slow attacks are a liability.
  • SeerCatalyst and Mace support, the only healer. Last in most overall lists, first in value for organized trios. The recurring summary is “excellent in trios, inconsistent alone.”

How to Use This List

Three things keep this tier list from being a straight answer:

  1. The pre-launch balance patch. KeenGamer explicitly notes it buffed Sorcerer, Mercenary, and Withered Knight while trimming some of Blackarrow, Shadowstrix, and Mace Seer’s strongest PvP tools. Any list written against the demo or playtest predates these changes.
  2. Mode weighting. Every list weighs solo extraction, PvE clearing, PvP, and trio play differently. A class can be S-tier in PvP and B-tier overall in the same article.
  3. Skill ceiling. Shadowstrix and Blackarrow both sit at the top only when played well. Destructoid’s B-tier placement for Shadowstrix comes with the explicit note that it is S-tier for players focused on PvP.

The honest summary as of July 31, 2026: Sorcerer and Shadowstrix are the classes most launch-window lists put on top, Mercenary, Blackarrow, and Withered Knight fill the middle band, and Seer is the bottom of overall lists but a cornerstone of trio teams. Expect this to shift with the first balance patches after launch.

FAQ

What is the Mistfall Hunter class tier list?

As of August 2026 the launch-window community consensus ranks Sorcerer and Shadowstrix in S-tier, Mercenary, Blackarrow, and Withered Knight in A-tier, and Seer in B-tier overall — first in value for coordinated trios. No class lands in C-tier across the consensus, though individual lists do reach it. The table in “Class Tier List at a Glance” above breaks the consensus down tier by tier.

What is the best class in Mistfall Hunter?

There is no official developer tier list, but across the launch-window community lists the Sorcerer is the most common overall number one (KeenGamer, GameSpot, GAMES.GG, Destructoid, LagoFast) for ranged damage and area control, while the Shadowstrix is the most common PvP and solo number one for stealth and burst. The early-August lists stay on the same consensus, with GameRant putting Sorcerer and Withered Knight in S-tier.

Is Sorcerer the best class in Mistfall Hunter?

Most launch-window lists put the Sorcerer on top for overall play — ranked S by KeenGamer, GameSpot, GAMES.GG, Destructoid, and LagoFast — but the pick is not unanimous. SkyCoach ranks the Sorcerer A-tier, and the Shadowstrix is the more common answer for PvP and solo play specifically.

Is Shadowstrix the best class in Mistfall Hunter?

The Shadowstrix is the most common number one for PvP and solo play (KeenGamer, SkyCoach, MetaMist, GamerBlurb) thanks to stealth, burst, and mobility. Destructoid ranks it B-tier overall but explicitly calls it S-tier for pure PvP play. It demands the most skill of any class and has low health, so it only holds the top spot when played well.

Which class is best for solo play in Mistfall Hunter?

The Shadowstrix is the standard community answer for solo play, with the Mercenary the safer beginner alternative. Mobalytics’ solo list puts Shadowstrix and Blackarrow in S-tier, Mercenary, Withered Knight, and Sorcerer in A-tier, and Seer at the bottom. See Best Solo Class in Mistfall Hunter for the full comparison.

What is the easiest class to play in Mistfall Hunter?

The Mercenary is the only Beginner Friendly class in the roster and the universally recommended starting pick. It ranks S-tier per Destructoid and GamerBlurb, A-tier per KeenGamer and SkyCoach, and B-tier per GameSpot and GAMES.GG — the safest all-rounder pick in the game.
