Bows

Bows are the ranged weapon family of the Blackarrow, the only class that wields them. The Bow is built for sightline control and spacing: the Blackarrow trades health for range, so every bow build wins by kiting, denying approach lanes, and refusing close combat. Bows support two ammunition families that define two very different builds — Archer’s Arrows for fully drawn burst damage (piercing, knockback, chain lightning, and mobility), and Hunter’s Arrows for status warfare (damage over time, exhaustion, traps, and movement punishment).

How to Choose a Bow

Every bow in Mistfall Hunter is a Blackarrow weapon, so “which bow” is really “which bow build you are running.” Because the class splits into two very different arrow families — Archer’s Arrows for fully drawn burst and Hunter’s Arrows for traps, debuffs, and damage over time — the bow matters less than the ammo you load, but the Combat Value ladder still gives you a clean progression:

The rarities and Combat Values come from the item pages below; the interpretation is ours. Three rules of thumb:

• Pick your arrow family first. A fully drawn Archer build and a trap-heavy Hunter build both want the highest Attack bow they can carry, but they reward very different skills — so commit to a Blackarrow build before you spend on upgrades.
• Farm for Holy, buy everything below. The Common-to-Legendary line drops from chests, equipment racks, and standard monsters; the Insatiable Heart bows come from the monster Flesheater (31.1% per the item database), making them a farm target rather than a shopping list item.
• Bank a spare before you queue. Bows are risk items — what you cannot extract, you lose — and the Blackarrow has lower durability than frontline classes, so losing your weapon to a death is especially punishing. Keep a cheap bow in camp storage.

A note on sources: the Blackarrow’s class tier is heavily disputed in launch-window lists (SkyCoach puts it S-tier, KeenGamer A-tier, one Steam thread calls it the weakest class — see the tier list), but no launch source ranks individual bows. Weapon choice follows your arrow build and the progression ladder above, not a weapon meta.
