Description

Sorcerers who wield this staff have usually come to grasp its essence, standing on the brink of their second awakening. Once their second “mind’s eye” opens, they may wander off to take on apprentices and often end up leaving Brandrgarde. Unlike warriors chosen by clans, Sorcerers are mercenaries bound by no oaths, so they can depart once their contract ends. This loose arrangement, along with their irreverent attitude toward deities, breeds mistrust within Brandrgarde.

Builds & Playstyle

The Convergence Staff is the point where the Sorcerer stops being a trainee. Its flavor text frames it as the staff of a sorcerer “on the brink of their second awakening,” and mechanically it delivers: at 29 Attack with a +4.00% Magic Damage modifier, it is the first staff whose damage output you can feel in a fight. That makes it a natural fit for both schools — Elemental for reaction pressure and Stardust for chant burst — and the right moment to pick the build you want to main.

Where it sits: the middle of the staff ladder (CV 400). It outclasses the Focus Staff (Excellent, CV 300) and loses to the Empyrean Rain Staff (Epic, CV 500).
When to use it: the leveling-to-endgame transition, and as a budget main weapon if you are not ready to risk an Epic on the extraction run.
When to swap: when an Epic staff drops, or when you start farming bosses for the Legendary / Holy tiers.

Community note: build guides (Destructoid’s Sorcerer guide, July 2026) name the Apprentice, Focus, and Convergence staffs as the three that carry you through leveling — which is also how the community frames the Rare tier: a comfort zone, not a finish line.
