The Focus Staff is where the Sorcerer’s stat curve stops being flat: it is the first staff with a Magic Damage modifier (+2.00%), and the rounded brass head described in its lore is exactly the “standard issue” it feels like — a dependable, affordable casting focus for Brandrgarde Sorcerers. Because the modifier applies to every school, the Focus Staff suits both builds, but it shines brightest in the Elemental route, where short casts and frequent elemental reactions squeeze more value out of a small percentage boost than the long chants of Stardust.

Where it sits: one step up from the Apprentice Staff (CV 200 → 300), one step below the Convergence Staff (Rare, CV 400). It is the honest budget upgrade — the database lists it at 100 average price.
When to use it: your first few sessions with the Sorcerer, or any time you are running on a tight budget.
When to swap: once a Rare or better staff drops from a raid, or when you start committing to endgame content.
